NO ORDINARY JOE
There has been a recent flurry of activity in the press on the issue of peak oil as a result of the release of a report on the future of energy supply by the U.S. military’s Joint Office of Command. For those of you unfamiliar with this organization it is the body that issues reports from the Joint Chiefs of Staff for the U.S. Armed Forces.

As you can see from page 25 of their report the graph concerning future energy supply that they use as the basis for their report comes from the IEA’s World Energy Outlook, page 103.
There has been some discussion as to what the release of this report means in terms of official U.S. policy. The following is the very first paragraph written in this report. It is in effect a disclaimer. Stating categorically that this is NOT to be taken as official American government policy.
